BA in Exercise Science and Fitness Management
Certified MOTR Instructor
As a child, I spent many afternoons and summer days at the school gym because my dad was a coach. I guess you could say that is where I began to understand and appreciate sports and how the body moves.
In college I began my studies in Physical Education and English. However, my second year proved to be the turning point for my future. One of my professors was starting a new program and developing a new curriculum for a new degree that the university was going to offer. I had a tremendous amount of respect for this woman so I changed my focus from education to science. I was the first of two graduates from the university with a degree in Exercise Science & Fitness Management.
Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, and Nutrition were all areas of study. During my practical studies, I worked with injured professional and collegiate athletes.
While finishing my studies, I worked in a local hospital both on a Medical/Surgical and Physical Rehab unit and upon graduating, I moved into the Physical Therapy Department and designed exercise programs for the patients on the Physical Rehab, Psych, and Substance Abuse Units.
I have worked with a broad spectrum of clients with a variety of physical limitations, fitness levels, and goals. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your own personal fitness goals.
Let’s get started!
